Venezuelan Popular Forces Prepared to Respond to US Threats
Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro has declared the deployment of popular forces nationwide to address any emerging threats.

At the founding conference of the National Union of Farmers held on Sunday, Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro announced the initiation of Operation Barracks to the People. This operation entails the deployment of members from the Bolivarian Armed Forces to 5,336 community districts across the nation.
Maduro asserted that “popular forces are mobilized to ensure that Venezuela remains untouched by what he termed as criminal American invaders.” He emphasized the importance of safeguarding “the nation’s sacred land, seas, and sky, through a seamless unity among the people, the military, and law enforcement.”
He highlighted that the overarching strategy involves the complete defense of the nation. Within this framework, which holds both legal and constitutional significance, two key approaches are being comprehensively executed: the active and sustained resistance by the populace, alongside a proactive and continuous offensive across all sectors.
The Venezuelan leader emphasized that “there is no justification for anything to come to a halt; a blockade should not be an excuse for the Bolivarians.”
Venezuela organized a day of military exercises aimed at civilians as a reaction to a recent deployment of U.S. military forces to the Caribbean and escalating threats from Trump. In the heavily populated Petare district of Caracas, officials shut down the main thoroughfare to facilitate a range of mini-courses focused on weaponry and tactics for what they termed “revolutionary resistance.”
Lubzi Monterola, a 38-year-old office worker, expressed her determination to acquire the necessary knowledge to defend what she holds dear: her country, homeland, and nation, Venezuela, she shared with TRT.
At the Petare event, 16-year-old John Noriega declared, “This is all about oil, gold, diamonds—our resources,” while attending with his parents. He emphasized their determination by stating, “We will fight for what is ours.”
