Venezuelan Foreign Minister Denounces U.S. Strikes, Asserts Regime Change Attempts Are Destined for Failure

In an official statement released on Saturday, Venezuela’s foreign minister expressed the government’s unequivocal condemnation of any acts of aggression toward the nation, emphasizing that such actions represent a blatant breach of the United Nations Charter.

According to his statement, the United States was responsible for coordinating the strikes that hit residential areas, vital infrastructure, and locations of both civilian and military significance, including central Caracas.

He cautioned that any efforts to enforce regime change in Venezuela are destined to fail, echoing the lack of success of earlier attempts. “Every endeavor to alter the governing body in our nation, as has been the case before, will not succeed,” he stated, reiterating Venezuela’s dedication to safeguarding its sovereignty.

Early on Saturday, the United States launched strikes on Venezuela, targeting locations in the capital, Caracas, and the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira, as reported by a statement from the Venezuelan government.

Nicolás Maduro has enacted a state of emergency and mandated the execution of all national defense strategies “when deemed suitable and under the right conditions.”
