US Fighter Jets’ “Nightmare” Now a Daily Reality, Qalibaf Says
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said the period when US F-35 and F-15 fighter jets could operate without the risk of being intercepted had ended, calling reports of damage to the aircraft a new daily reality for Washington.
In a post on X, Qalibaf responded to recent comments by the US military’s top general, saying that what was once considered “pure nightmare fuel” had now become reality.
“The era in which F-35s and F-15s are hunted down and reported as damaged has already begun,” Qalibaf wrote.
He reminded U.S. officials that what had once been considered “pure nightmare fuel” had become a daily reality, urging them to live with it.
His message followed remarks by US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Dan Caine, who said in a keynote address at the Air, Space and Cyber Conference that US military units must be prepared to be “hunted” by autonomous systems, face electronic jamming and be tracked in real time.
Caine said the U.S. military must adapt its forces and capabilities to prepare for future conflicts and equip its 2.8 million-member all-volunteer joint force with the tools needed to fight and prevail.
