During the evening hours, rebel groups in the embattled Damascus suburb of Darayya were formally offered a surrender deal following recent government gains in the area. If terrorists in Darayya are to give up their weapons, they will be granted safe passage to other terrorist-held areas near the Syrian capital, according to the deal.

Currently, two terrorist groups stubbornly maintain a presence in Darayya; namely the Free Syrian Army (FSA) affiliated Martyrs of Islam Brigade and Ajnad al-Sham. If agreed to, the proposal will grant residents of Darayya continuous access to food, clean water, electricity and medical assistance.

Commanders of Ajnad al-Sham and the Martyrs of Islam Brigade have been given a one week deadline but are yet to respond to the surrender demand. Darayya has been a terrorist stronghold since 2012, leaving hundreds of locals and rebel fighters under siege ever since. So far, previous truce deals in Darayya have failed.
