Syrian army attacks ISIL terrorists in several provinces

Syria’s army forces have pushed ahead with their battle against ISIL Takfiri terrorists in several provinces of the conflict-stricken country.

A large number of terrorists were killed, their vehicles were destroyed and caches of weapons were seized during the operation conducted by Syrian troops on Thursday, the Syrian Arab News Agency reported.

The army destroyed ISIL hideouts with many militants inside near Sha’er Wells in the countryside of Palmyra, killed a large number of militants in the farms of Bait al-Darwish, Um Sharshouh and al-Bait al-Mukantar at Haret al-Bado area in central province of Homs.

The forces also killed all members of an armed terrorist group along the border with Jordan as they were trying to move ammunition from one of their hideouts in Samaj village in southern province of Dara’a.

Elsewhere, in the northern province of Idlib, the Syrian army forces killed a number of terrorists in Kafar Jales, al-Habet and Bohourin areas.

In Damascus countryside, intensive operations were carried out against terrorists from several directions in the towns of al-Habbaria, Kafar Nasej, al-Teeha, Hamreet, Sabsaba, and in Qalamoun mountains.

Meanwhile, three mortar shells fired by terrorists have landed in a vegetable market near a telephone center in the suburbs of Harasta near Damascus, leaving one civilian injured.

Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. The violence fueled by Takfiri groups has so far claimed the lives of an estimated 210,000 people, according to reports.
