Syria , Iran discuss means to develop bilateral relations

Damascus, SANA- Speaker of the People’s Assembly, Hammoudeh Sabbagh , met Wednesday Iranian Minister of Justice Amin Hossein Rahimi and the accompanying delegation, in the parliament building in Damascus.

Sabbagh affirmed the historic relation between two countries are deeply rooted and the necessity of continuing to boost, develop and raise them to the highest levels in all domains.

He pointed out that what Syria is exposed to in terms of the American occupation of its lands depletes its capabilities and aims to plunder its wealth, and the Turkish occupation is committing a crime of cutting off water to more than a million Syrians in the city of Hasaka and its surroundings.

Rahimi, in his turn, noted the importance of the friendly relations between his country and Syria, pointing out that the steadfastness of Syrian people, their sacrifices, and the heroism of their army and leadership contributed greatly to achieving victory over terrorism.

He added that the necessity to confront the legal and human rights war through coordination between the Ministries of Justice in both countries in addition to forming joint legal committee that defends the rights of both people in international forums .

Rahimi  stressed the significance to double the efforts and exchange experiences in a way that contributes to the reconstruction of what terrorism has destroyed and overcome the effects of unilateral economic coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people.

Meanwhile Minister of Justice Judge Ahmed al-Sayyed underlined the importance of cooperation between the ministry, People’s Assembly and the Iranian side in the legislative and legal field in a way that serves the national interest and benefits the peoples of the two countries.
