Quds Brigades Launch Rocket Offensive on Occupied Territories

The Al-Quds Brigades, the military faction of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, declared that its fighters launched a rocket attack targeting the Israeli settlement of Netivot. This action was described as part of the ongoing retaliation against actions by the Israeli authorities perceived as oppressive towards the Palestinian populace, as reported by Al Mayadeen.

The Israeli military has confirmed the launch of two rockets from the Gaza Strip targeting the region near Netivot. According to military sources, one of the rockets was successfully intercepted, while the other impacted an open area. Prior to this announcement, Israeli media reported the activation of sirens throughout the area commonly referred to as the “Gaza envelope” and extending into the western al-Naqab region in response to the rocket launches.

In the latest developments, Gaza remains engulfed in turmoil following one of the most violent weekends in recent times. Health officials report that at least 75 Palestinians lost their lives within a span of 48 hours, with 62 fatalities on Saturday, including 15 individuals awaiting humanitarian aid. On Sunday, 13 more deaths were recorded, among them eight civilians taking refuge in al-Farabi School and two children in a displacement tent in Gaza City. The Gaza Health Ministry indicates that the overall casualties of the ongoing conflict have now exceeded 64,000, with 162,000 injured since October 2023, and more than 20,000 children among the deceased.
