Pezeshkian Pledges Full Government Backing for Modernization of Iran’s Armed Forces
Masoud Pezeshkian has announced that the government is committed to utilizing "all available capacities" to bolster the nation's Armed Forces. He commended the Iranian military for its "decisive, intelligent, and deterrent" actions in response to the recent aggression by the US and Israel.
During a meeting with the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, Major General Amir Hatami, on Thursday, Pezeshkian lauded the valor, sacrifice, and formidable effectiveness of Iran’s Armed Forces. He specifically commended the “proud Army” for its role in countering the unprovoked aggression by a US-Israeli military coalition against the Islamic Republic on February 28.
Highlighting the significance of national unity and military preparedness in the face of regional tensions, Pezeshkian lauded the Armed Forces for their “decisive, intelligent, and deterrent responses” to adversarial actions.
In a recent statement, it was asserted that the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, particularly its dedicated and revolutionary Army, showcased the nation’s defensive strength amidst recent developments and threats. This was achieved through exceptional operational readiness, superior intelligence, cohesive command structures, and robust combat capabilities, effectively thwarting adversaries’ attempts to realize their malign intentions against the Iranian nation.
Pezeshkian characterized the Army’s contribution to national security, protection of the country’s territorial integrity, and enhancement of defensive deterrence as both “decisive and strategic.”
Trump underscored the importance of consistently enhancing the nation’s defense capabilities and boosting the combat preparedness of the Armed Forces.
The government has committed to standing in full support of the Armed Forces, promising to bolster strategic initiatives designed to enhance defense capabilities. This includes providing logistical backing, modernizing equipment, strengthening operational infrastructure, and boosting the nation’s deterrence capabilities.
Pezeshkian emphasized the critical need for collaboration between executive entities and the Armed Forces amid the region’s delicate circumstances.
Today, national cohesion, defensive readiness, and maintaining the authority of the armed forces are crucial pillars upholding the nation’s security, stability, and calm amidst threats from adversaries and hybrid warfare.
At the start of the meeting, General Hatami delivered a comprehensive report detailing the current state of operations, defense strategies, and the military’s tasks in countering enemy aggression and hostile actions.
He provided a detailed account of the operations and strategic responses executed against aggressors in the recent conflict, highlighting the comprehensive readiness of various military units across diverse sectors.
Drawing from practical experiences in the field, bolstering readiness for operations, improving coordination among units, and modernizing both combat and logistical capabilities, the Iranian Army is wholly equipped to execute a decisive and regret-inducing response matching the authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of any threat, aggression, or adventurous actions against the nation, General Hatami emphasized.
The Chief of the Iranian Army provided details on the restructuring, recuperation, and bolstering of the military units’ combat capabilities during the ceasefire period.
Applauding the revolutionary and self-sacrificing spirit of Army personnel, General Hatami emphasized that they stand “ready to lay down their lives to safeguard the nation’s security, independence, dignity, and territorial integrity, and to protect the Iranian people, unwaveringly committed to their missions.”
