Peaceful protests in Iran out against riots, US interference

Kermanshah province in western Iran witnessed mass demonstrations denouncing the recent armed riots across the country. Protesters raised slogans such as “Death to America” and “Death to Israel,” voicing strong opposition to any form of foreign interference in Iran’s internal affairs.

Amid heightened tensions, Iran held large public funerals for members of the Internal Security Forces killed during the unrest.

In Bojnurd, North Khorasan province, two officers were laid to rest as similar ceremonies took place in Gachsaran, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, and in Ilam, southwest Iran, honoring other security personnel who lost their lives during the recent violence.

Commenting on the developments, Iranian police chief Ahmad Reza Radan warned against supporting rioters, stating that “any individual who sides with the rioters becomes a victim of their violence.”

He emphasized the need to distinguish between peaceful protesters and those involved in acts of sabotage, accusing rioters of following a deliberate plan aimed at targeting Iranian youth. Radan confirmed that several key instigators were arrested overnight and will face legal proceedings without leniency.

Thirty security forces killed in Isfahan riots

Iranian authorities have confirmed the deaths of dozens of security personnel in recent foreign-backed riots, with mass funeral processions and nationwide rallies scheduled for Monday to denounce what officials describe as acts of terrorism and sabotage.

Isfahan’s governor, Ali Ahmadi, announced that 30 members of the security forces were killed during the unrest in the province. He also confirmed that a two-month-old infant was among the civilian casualties, and that at least ten mosques had been set ablaze.

In neighboring Fars Province, at least 12 additional security personnel were reported killed, according to Ibrahim Bayani, director of the provincial Martyrs’ Foundation. Police Special Units Commander General Masoud Modaqq further revealed that eight members of his unit were also killed during the riots.

Iran’s president accuses US of inciting chaos

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has accused the United States of actively inciting unrest in the Islamic Republic, emphasizing that the Iranian people remain more united than ever in support of their homeland and political system.

Speaking during a meeting in Tehran on Saturday with Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Pezeshkian said the US was “fueling chaos and disorder,” but noted that such efforts would fail to undermine national cohesion.

“The United States is inciting chaos and unrest, while the Iranian people are more united than ever and will continue to support their nation and system,” Pezeshkian stated.

Iran has witnessed waves of armed riots since the beginning of the year, marked by attacks on public property and religious sites, and the martyrdom of several members of the police and Basij forces.

The riots coincided with escalating clashes between security forces and separatist movements in the western provinces, which resulted in the deaths of multiple members of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps. These developments followed public threats by Trump, who claimed he might intervene in Iranian affairs under the pretext of “protecting protesters and the Iranian people.”
