Palestinian Detainee Dies from Injuries Sustained in Zionist Military Shooting in West Bank
A young Palestinian detainee has died from gunshot wounds inflicted by the Israeli army during a recent operation in the southern occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian WAFA news agency has reported, through the Palestinian Civil Affairs Authority, the death of a 20-year-old identified as Musab Abdul-Munim al-Eida. Reports state that al-Eida succumbed to severe injuries after being critically wounded when Israeli forces entered the Tel Rumeida neighborhood in al-Khalil last week and employed live ammunition.
In a joint statement, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society and the Palestinian Authority’s Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs announced that Eida passed away at the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in the occupied city of al-Quds on Monday.
According to reports, Israeli forces shot and subsequently detained a Palestinian youth on August 21. Despite being in critical condition, the youth’s detention at Israel’s Ofer Prison in the West Bank was extended the day before.
Two institutions have characterized the shooting as an attempted field execution, drawing parallels to the targeting of other Palestinians who were subsequently killed.
They stated that Eida’s death is indicative of the persistent trend of Israeli actions, including extrajudicial killings, which have intensified amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
According to various Palestinian prisoners’ advocacy organizations, the death of Eida underscores the severe abuses faced by Palestinians in Israeli detention facilities, where the use of torture reportedly extends beyond traditional definitions.
Observers have reported that every element of prison life has been transformed into an instrument of abuse, beginning with the initial moment of arrest.
Amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza, Israel has intensified efforts to annex areas in the West Bank. The territory has been under Israeli military control since 1967.
The Israeli military has escalated its operations in the occupied West Bank, conducting daily raids and mass arrests, with a particular focus on the northern region. Israeli bulldozers have demolished entire residential neighborhoods, resulting in the displacement of at least 40,000 individuals.
Nearly 770,000 Israeli settlers reside in the West Bank, distributed among 180 established settlements and 256 outposts, with 138 identified as agricultural or pastoral, as reported by Palestinian sources.
Israeli statistics reveal that unauthorized settlers carried out 414 assaults on Palestinians in the West Bank during the initial half of 2025, marking a 30% increase compared to the previous year. Since October 2023, Israeli forces and settlers have been responsible for the deaths of at least 1,013 Palestinians and injuries to over 7,000 in the West Bank.
