Over 3,000 evacuated in Aleppo following SDF organization shelling

Syrian Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management, Raed Al-Saleh, emphasized that every Syrian citizen is a responsibility of the state, and it is the government’s duty to ensure their safety. He affirmed that Syria will remain a strong, unified country that protects the dignity and lives of its people.

Al-Saleh stated on social media platform X that the ministry is fully prepared to assist families seeking to reach safe areas while tensions persist in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and al-Ashrafieh in Aleppo.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Civil Defense reported the evacuation of over 3,000 civilians on Wednesday, mostly from the affected neighborhoods, in response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis caused by continuous shelling from SDF organization.

Civil Defense teams carried out evacuations through al-Awarid and al-Zuhur streets, provided first aid to the elderly, and transported families to either their chosen safe destinations or temporary shelter centers. The organization confirmed it remains fully ready to respond to any potential emergencies.

SDF organization continues to target areas near Sheikh Maqsoud and Al-Ashrafieh with mortar shells and heavy and medium machine gun fire, resulting in four civilian deaths and 27 injuries. Hundreds of residents are reportedly prevented from leaving the neighborhoods due to gunfire and intimidation.
