Many countries ‘privately’ condemn US aggression against Iran’s nuclear sites: Report

Many countries have expressed condemnation of the unlawful American aggression against Iran’s peaceful nuclear sites in “private” contacts with Tehran, according to a report.
A report published in local media on Monday said many countries, which refrained from publicly commenting on Sunday’s attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities in Isfahan, Natanz and Fordow, have “condemned this action in private messages”.
“Although some governments have refrained from adopting a public stance [on the strikes] due to political reasons or diplomatic considerations, they have expressed their dissatisfaction and opposition to this military aggression in unofficial correspondence and calls,” the report stated.
In the early hours of Sunday, the US launched a series of unlawful and unprovoked aerial strikes against peaceful nuclear facilities in a clear violation of international law and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
The US strikes came as Washington decided to make its support for the Israeli aggression against Iran official with direct intervention in the war that the regime has been losing.
The Israeli regime launched unprovoked aggression on the Islamic Republic on June 13, with American backing, assassinating several top-ranking military commanders, scientists and many other ordinary civilians, including women and children.
Iranian officials strongly condemned the US aggression against Iranian nuclear facilities and warned about its potential catastrophic consequences.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the aggression “marks an unprecedented collapse in international relations,” which can have “disastrous consequences.”
Addressing the UN Security Council on Sunday, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said the bombing of Iran’s peaceful nuclear sites marks a “perilous turn”, warning that the region cannot endure yet another “cycle of destruction.”
