Late Leader Recognized as Top Contributor of Manuscripts to Astan Quds Razavi Collection

Abdolhamid Talebi, who leads the Scientific and Cultural Organization of Astan Quds Razavi, spoke at an event dedicated to unveiling a manuscript of the holy Quran. He highlighted that the martyred Leader had been responsible for donating the largest collection of manuscripts to the library of the revered shrine.

He highlighted that a number of the artworks were initially gifted to Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, who later acquired several distinctive pieces using his own finances and donated them to Astan Quds Razavi.

Talebi highlighted the commitment of the chief custodianship of Astan Quds Razavi to the preservation and scholarly utilization of these works. He noted that in 2023, a team was established to undertake both virtual and in-person imaging of the manuscripts.

He noted that, with the backing of the holy shrine’s custodianship, restoration efforts have reached new heights, successfully restoring over 2,000 manuscripts and lithographic works in the past two years.

Astan Quds Razavi, a charitable organization based in the northeastern city of Mashhad, manages the revered shrine of Imam Reza (AS) along with the endowments entrusted to its care.
