Khatam al-Anbiya Central HQ warns US over any operations in Hormuz

Iran warns the US and allies over Strait of Hormuz security, stating all vessel passage must be coordinated with Iran's armed forces.

Iranian Major General Ali Abdollahi, commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, stated that Iran’s armed forces serve as the sole guarantor of security in the Strait of Hormuz, underscoring their full control over the strategic waterway.

Abdollahi stated that the Strait of Hormuz’s security is managed entirely by Iran, noting: “We repeatedly state that the security of the Strait of Hormuz is in the hands of the Iranian armed forces, and that any safe passage in the strait is coordinated with our forces”.

The Iranian commander explained that all commercial vessels and oil tankers must coordinate in advance with the Iranian forces before crossing the strait, urging vessels to avoid attempting transit without such coordination to ensure their safety.

Warning to US and foreign forces

Addressing escalating Iran-US tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, Abdollahi issued a direct warning to the United States and other foreign military forces.

He said that “the US military and any foreign armed forces will be attacked” if they attempt to approach or enter the strait, referring to US officials as “criminals” and the US military as “aggressor terrorists” engaged in “piracy and theft in open waters.” Abdollahi also warned regional allies of Washington, cautioning them against supporting any escalation.

He said that “America’s allies should be cautious not to face irreversible regret”, adding that “aggressors and their allies must understand that the steadfast and courageous nation and its armed forces have demonstrated they will respond firmly to any act of aggression.”

The commander further warned that any US action in the region would escalate tensions, stressing that such moves “will only complicate the situation and endanger the safety of ships”.

Trump announces ‘Project Freedom’

Khatam al-Anbiya’s statement comes in response to US President Donald Trump’s announcement to launch a naval operation on Monday to escort foreign vessels stranded in the Strait of Hormuz, framing the move as a humanitarian initiative amid ongoing regional tensions.

In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump alleged that multiple countries had asked the United States for assistance in “freeing” ships that remain unable to transit the strategic waterway.

He said the initiative, dubbed “Project Freedom”, would begin Monday morning West Asia time with US representatives tasked with guiding vessels and their crews safely out of the restricted area.

Iran was quick to respond, strongly rejecting Trump’s announcement, warning that any American involvement in the management of the Strait of Hormuz would be considered a violation of the existing ceasefire framework.
