Israeli occupation arrests 16 Palestinians during raids in West Bank

Israeli occupation forces launched a large-scale raid campaign on Saturday in various areas of the West Bank, arresting a number of Palestinians.

WAFA News Agency reported that occupation forces arrested 16 Palestinians from Jerusalem and Anata, north of the city, amid extensive house searches, turning some of them into field investigation centers, and vandalizing their contents.

In addition, occupation forces stormed Jabal al-Rahma, Wadi al-Nasara, and al-Birka neighborhood in Hebron, firing tear gas canisters, searching vehicles, and obstructing traffic. They also set up several military checkpoints at the entrances to the city, its towns, villages, and refugee camps, and closed several main and secondary roads with iron gates, cement blocks, and earth mounds.

According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society, the number of detainees in Israeli prisons has reached approximately 10,800, the highest number since 2000. Among them are 49 women and more than 450 children.
