Israeli forces detain a man in southern Quneitra countryside

Israeli occupation forces detained a young man early Tuesday in the Umm al-Luqas Farm area of southern Quneitra province, southwestern Syria.

SANA’s reporter in the province said an Israeli force entered the area, detained the man and later withdrew.

The incident follows an Israeli incursion on Sunday into the villages of Sida al-Hanout and Jabata al-Khashab in southern and northern Quneitra countryside, where five young men were detained for several hours before being released.

Israel has carried out repeated incursions into parts of southern Syria in recent months through raids, arrests, land-clearing operations and shelling in areas near the separation line, in violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.

Syria has repeatedly called for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from its territory and stressed that Israeli measures in southern Syria have no legal validity under international law. Syria has also urged the international community to take action to end ongoing violations and to ensure Israel’s withdrawal from southern Syrian territory.
