Islamic Jihad Defiant Amid Trump’s Threats of Disarmament Coercion

The Islamic Jihad has stated that Gaza's resistance movements have not consented to disarmament, despite Trump's threat to forcibly confiscate their weapons.

The Deputy Secretary-General of the Palestinian resistance movement based in the Gaza Strip, Mohammad al-Hindi, delivered remarks to the Al Jazeera television network on Tuesday.

A spokesperson declared that resistance factions have not agreed to disarmament, stating that they reject any threats of being disarmed by force.

On Tuesday, Trump asserted during a speech at the White House that the resistance fighters in Gaza “will disarm.” He further emphasized, “And if they don’t disarm, we will disarm them — and it will happen swiftly and potentially with force, but disarm they will.”

Hindi has confirmed that there are no hidden clauses in the agreement finalized on October 9, which resulted from indirect negotiations with Israel following Trump’s proposal. Hindi described the assertions made by the Israeli authorities as “mere rumors lacking any factual foundation.”

As a result of an agreement finalized in Egypt, Hamas has committed to freeing the remaining Israeli captives held in the Gaza Strip and has agreed to transfer governance of the coastal region to a Palestinian authority.

Trump, the architect behind a 20-point plan, asserts that the proposal is designed to terminate the regime’s ongoing genocide spanning over two years along the coastal enclave.

Hamas has released 20 individuals who were being held captive and has reportedly transferred the bodies of four deceased individuals to the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Despite numerous incidents of lethal infractions by the regime, Tuesday witnessed the casualties and injuries of at least 10 Palestinians.

Hindi anticipated that efforts by the occupying forces to impede the agreement’s implementation were anticipated.

He emphasized that the resistance groups are vigilantly observing the agreement’s implementation to guarantee that the rights of the Palestinian people are respected.

In October 2023, Israel initiated a large-scale military campaign following a significant resistance operation that resulted in the capture of several individuals.

The ongoing conflict has resulted in the tragic loss of at least 67,913 Palestinian lives, predominantly women and children.
