IRGC Pledges Firm Response to Any Threat or Aggression as Iran-US Deal Elapses
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has declared its readiness to deliver a decisive response to any threats or acts of aggression. This statement comes in light of the expiration of a war-termination agreement between Iran and the United States, as efforts to secure a lasting resolution to hostilities remain at an impasse.

On Monday, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) released a statement marking the 36th anniversary of the homecoming of Iranian prisoners of war. These individuals were detained during the conflict in the 1980s, a war initiated by former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that at this critical juncture, its forces are motivated by the self-sacrifice, resilience, and steadfastness of esteemed Iranian prisoners of war. The IRGC emphasizes its reliance on Almighty God and adherence to the directives of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.
In a recent declaration, the IRGC emphasized its commitment to the Iranian public, asserting that its forces are ready and determined to utilize all available resources. They pledged to collaborate closely with the nation’s other formidable military units to protect the Islamic Revolution and to ensure the defense of Iran’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, dignity, and national interests.
The elite military unit has issued a stern warning, declaring that its forces are fully prepared to “decisively crush any threat or act of aggression with unwavering determination.” The statement emphasized the use of a strategy focused on maximum deterrence combined with aggressive offensive maneuvers.
On August 17, Iranian prisoners of war made their return to their home country following years of imprisonment under the harsh conditions of Saddam Hussein’s Ba’athist regime, according to reports from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The prisoners of war were portrayed as “living testimony” to the legitimacy of Iran’s cause, highlighting the injustices the country has faced. They are seen as continuing the legacy of martyrs, representing enduring examples of patience and resilience, and embodying the ideals of freedom and honor.
The United States and Israel reportedly initiated an offensive move against Iran on February 28, allegedly resulting in the assassination of the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and several senior military commanders.
Forty days later, on April 8, adversaries were compelled to accept a ceasefire following Iran’s steadfast resistance, decisive counteractions, and strategic control over the Strait of Hormuz.
Tehran and Washington had entered into the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 17, yet the United States reportedly breached the agreement, leading Iran to launch significant strikes on key American targets throughout West Asia.
On Monday, the 60-day deadline for the two nations to reach a permanent resolution to their conflict came to an end without an agreement.
