IRGC Launches Strikes on Anti-Iran Separatist Bases in Iraqi Kurdistan

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched a series of missile and drone attacks targeting the primary strongholds and headquarters of anti-Iran separatist terrorist organizations in the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region of northern Iraq.

The Public Relations Department of the IRGC announced on Wednesday morning that its missile units successfully launched and hit designated targets with three projectiles.

The announcement reported that the airstrikes successfully targeted and eliminated the bases of Komala and other Kurdish militant factions opposing Iran. However, no specific information regarding casualties resulting from these attacks was provided.

Khalil Sanani, the spokesman for the Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK), which opposes Iranian influence, reported that an Iranian missile strike targeting its fighters resulted in the death of one PAK member.

At precisely 11:22 a.m. local time (0822 GMT), Sanani reported that Iran had launched three projectiles targeting a PAK camp situated near Erbil, the capital of the Iraqi Kurdistan region. The incident resulted in the death of one guard, while three others sustained injuries, according to his statement.

Three Iranian drones targeted a camp housing Kurdish groups opposed to Iran, reports indicate.

Tareq al-Haidari, a local authority from the Koysinjaq district, reported that unmanned aerial vehicles launched an offensive on the Azadi camp, which is associated with the group known as the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI).

The commander of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI), Mohammed Nazif Kader, reported that the camp was targeted by “drones and missiles.” Iran has labeled Kurdish groups opposing its regime, which are perceived to align with Western and Israeli interests, as terrorist organizations.

For an extended period, these factions have carried out assaults on Iranian security personnel in regions predominantly inhabited by Kurds, located in the western and north-western sectors of Iran.

Last week, five Kurdish separatist organizations, among them the PDKI, revealed the formation of a political alliance with the aim of opposing Iran’s Islamic establishment and pursuing the secession of Kurdish regions from the nation.
