IRGC Captures Key Terrorists in Khuzestan, Confiscates Weapons
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has successfully apprehended the leaders and terrorist operatives connected to the recent foreign-influenced disturbances in Iran's southwestern Khuzestan Province. During the operation, a range of lethal weapons was seized from the individuals involved.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the deputy public relations officer of the IRGC’s provincial unit in Khuzestan announced that the individuals in custody face charges that include the killing of civilians, destruction of both public and private property, disruption of public order, and the intimidation of citizens. Additionally, they stand accused of vandalizing sacred sites, including shrines and mosques.
According to a statement, the terrorists were reportedly directed by foreign agencies to execute acts of sabotage and arson, engage in killings, target elite individuals for assassination, and incite ethnic division.
The detainees were tasked with dismantling critical infrastructure, including water and electricity systems, gas and oil pipelines, and communication networks. They were also directed to carry out attacks on military installations and police stations.
The provincial unit of the IRGC has conveyed its gratitude to the residents of Khuzestan for their collaboration in the operation that led to the capture of the armed mercenaries.
The statement emphasized the readiness of its forces to lay down their lives to thwart adversaries’ schemes and uphold peace and security within the community.
Last month, a number of shopkeepers in various Iranian cities organized peaceful demonstrations to express their economic grievances, which are directly tied to the unilateral sanctions imposed by the United States.
The demonstrations escalated into violence following public statements from officials in the United States and Israel, which appeared to incite acts of vandalism and chaos.
Amid the upheaval, armed agitators allegedly supported by foreign influences inflicted damage on public property and resulted in casualties among both civilians and security personnel.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, declared on Saturday that several individuals involved in the sedition had been identified, trained, and predominantly recruited by American and Israeli agencies.
