Iran’s Armed Forces Decry Ecuador’s Recent Actions

The General Staff of the Armed Forces has expressed strong disapproval of the Ecuadorian government's decision to designate the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.

The Iranian Armed Forces’ General Staff issued a statement on Saturday vehemently denouncing what they termed as a deplorable and unlawful decision by the Ecuadorian government to designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces has expressed that the recent decision by the Ecuadorian government is viewed as unreasonable, desperate, and illegal. They argue that this move aligns with the global dominance agenda driven by the United States and the Zionist regime. It is suggested that such actions could escalate global insecurity and undermine peace, potentially emboldening the Zionist regime to conduct atrocities in Gaza, Palestine, and other regional areas.

In a recent statement, questions were raised regarding the Ecuadorian government’s stance on international organizations and movements. The inquiry centered around whether the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)—noted for its opposition to terrorist groups allegedly aligned with the United States and Israel, and its role in defending national sovereignty—alongside movements like Hamas and Hezbollah, are considered terrorist entities. Additionally, the statement challenged whether the actions of the United States and Israel, which it accuses of unrestrained aggression and violations of international norms, are deemed acts of terrorism.

The Armed Forces of Iran have announced their unwavering support for the people of Palestine and Lebanon, with a particular focus on assisting the vulnerable population in Gaza. In a recent statement, the Iranian military affirmed their commitment to aid in the robust defense of these communities and to uphold their rights.

It highlighted that a warning was issued to the Ecuadorian government urging respect for international and human rights, and to refrain from supporting entities perceived as false or malevolent in alignment with the hegemonic ambitions of the United States and the so-called Zionist regime.

The statement emphasized that Iran, along with its courageous armed forces, particularly the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), is committed to a formidable defense of its nation and territory against any aggression, regardless of its origin. It vowed to respond decisively and bravely to what it described as the excessive actions of the United States, which it labels as a central sponsor of terrorism and malevolence in the region, specifically referring to the Zionist regime, and asserted that no threat will diminish their resolute and divinely inspired determination.
