Iranian Major General: ISIL Created to Reinforce Zionists

Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces for Logistics Major General Mostafa Izadi underlined that the Takfiri terrorist groups have been created as a result of a plot to strengthen Israel’s operational power.

“The moves by the ISIL to strengthen the Zionist regime shows the nature of the Takfiri current,” Major General Izadi said, addressing a ceremony in the city of Marivan, Western Iran, on Monday.

He reiterated that the main goal of the ISIL and the Takfiri current is to taint the image of genuine Islam to prevent its progress in the heart of the Europeans.

Earlier today, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said that the US, Britain and Israel have created and supported the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorist group to wage a war against the Muslim states.

“The phenomenon of the ISIL is a terroristic move that has been created against our neighbors in Iraq, Syria and other Muslim countries by Zionism, Britain and the US …,” General Firouzabadi told reporters

He noted that the arrogant powers are using the ISIL because of its extremely violent behavior to achieve their goals.

Last month, Lieutenant Commander of the IRGC Quds Force Brigadier General Esmayeel Qaani underlined Tehran’s continued logistical support and military advice to Baghdad and Damascus in their campaign against terrorist groups.

“This (Quds force’s assistance) is not a military presence (in Iraq or Syria), but it is military counseling that has persuaded resistance forces in Iraq and Syria to be determined in their fights against extremists and terrorists,” the Iranian commander said.
