Iranian Air Force Claims Successful Defense Against Drone Attacks in 12-Day Conflict with ‘israel’
The commander of Iran's Air Force has reported that Iranian military forces conducted continuous aerial operations throughout a recent 12-day conflict with Israel. These operations included the successful downing of several drones and the interception of hostile aircraft.

Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi, the leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF), announced that pilots, commanders, and technical personnel carried out continuous combat, reconnaissance, and air defense operations in reaction to what was described as unprovoked aggression by Israel on June 13.
In a recent address in Tehran, Vahedi announced that from the onset of the conflict initiated by the Zionist regime, pilots from Shahid Babayi Air Base in Isfahan and additional bases conducted combat missions over Tehran and significant strategic zones. These missions reportedly included the successful interception of advanced enemy drones.
The IRIAF has confirmed that it effectively responded to all directives from the national integrated air defense system, deploying fighter jets to repeatedly engage “enemy flight formations” and successfully preventing them from reaching their intended objectives.
The Iranian military mobilized its entire air force capabilities throughout the 12-day conflict. According to Vahedi, the Air Force executed numerous missions, some of which are still classified due to security considerations.
He stated that throughout the 12-day conflict with the Zionist regime, commanders, pilots, and technical staff concentrated on executing combat operations. Their efforts also included patrol, reconnaissance, and scramble flights targeting both manned and unmanned enemy aircraft.
He stated that the Air Force is completely equipped and ready to protect Iran’s airspace in any situation.
On June 13, Israel initiated a direct and unprovoked attack on Iran, sparking a 12-day conflict that resulted in the deaths of at least 1,064 individuals. Among the casualties were military leaders, nuclear experts, and civilians.
The United States subsequently entered the conflict by launching airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities, actions widely regarded as a serious breach of international law.
In retaliation, the Iranian Armed Forces launched strikes against strategic locations within the occupied territories and targeted the al-Udeid air base in Qatar, which represents the largest U.S. military installation in the West Asian region.
On June 24, Iran successfully launched retaliatory operations targeting both Israel and the United States, effectively bringing the terrorist activities to a standstill.
