Iran Stages Funeral for Child Victims of US-Israel Assault

The funeral procession commenced for the victims of the fatal strike on an elementary school in Iran's southern Hormozgan province. This somber event follows the recent Israeli-American assault on the Islamic Republic. Devastated families assembled to honor and say their final goodbyes to the children who lost their lives in the attack.

The somber procession for the victims of the tragic attack on an elementary school in Iran’s southern Hormozgan province has commenced, with mourners gathering to pay their final respects to the children who lost their lives. This occurred amid the recent Israeli-American aggression against the Islamic Republic.

On Tuesday morning, the streets were filled with mourners as they carried small coffins and photographs of the young victims who lost their lives in the attack on Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab. Cries and prayers resonated throughout the city in a somber tribute to the tragic event.

The ceremony took place three days following the US-Israeli strike on the facility, which resulted in the tragic deaths of 165 children and left nearly 100 others injured.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, the prosecutor of Minab verified the extent of the casualties and condemned the attack as “criminal” and “savage.”

The solemn funeral procession for those who lost their lives in the tragic incident at Minab Elementary School included both educational staff and parents of the students, according to sources. The attack, attributed to actions by the US and Israeli forces, drew significant attention, as highlighted in posts on social media.

The two-story structure, which was exclusively civilian in nature, accommodated a boys’ school on the ground floor, while a girls’ school occupied the first floor.

Mojtaba Qahremani, the Chief Justice of Hormozgan Province, announced on Tuesday that authorities have successfully identified the bodies of 140 individuals deemed martyrs of the school, with burial permits having been issued.

He reported that the identities of the 25 bodies have yet to be confirmed.

The severity of the explosion has rendered some bodies unidentifiable through standard procedures, necessitating DNA testing, he stated.

He stated that the remains of the adversary’s armaments have been unearthed, confiscated, and gathered at the scene of the crime. As a result, the case is being pursued through both national and international legal channels.

In the immediate aftermath, dense smoke billowed from the debris as fragments spread across the adjacent roads.

Families in distress hurried to the scene while emergency teams combed through the rubble in search efforts.

Masoud Pezeshkian has extended condolences for the “devastating tragedy resulting from the treacherous attack that has saddened the hearts of Iranians and freedom-loving people.” In a recent incident involving Israeli-American military actions in southern Iran, an attack targeted an elementary school in Minab, Hormozgan province, resulting in the deaths of 165 children.

He stated that this “inhuman, brutal act” marks yet another somber chapter in the ongoing catalog of the aggressors’ crimes against this land, a chapter that will be indelibly etched in the historical memory of our nation.

According to the Iran Red Crescent Society, the hostilities that commenced on Saturday have claimed the lives of over 550 individuals, including victims.
