Iran Refutes ‘Two-State’ Solution Following Joint Doha Declaration on Palestine Issue
Iran has articulated its position regarding a joint statement emerging from a recent summit in Doha, following an Israeli offensive on Qatar. The nation firmly rejected the "two-state" solution in relation to the Palestinian matter and criticized the United States' unilateral "peace" initiatives.

The Foreign Ministry released a statement on Tuesday, clarifying its position by distancing the Islamic Republic from mentions of the “two-state solution,” reasserting its support for the Palestinian right to resistance, and dismissing any possibility of recognizing the regime.
The statement further dismissed any authentic intentions from Washington to address the situation fostered by the regime’s brutality across the West Asia region, particularly in the occupied Palestinian territories.
**’Two-State Solution’ Faces Major Obstacles**
The Islamic Republic has reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to supporting the Palestinian pursuit of freedom from Israeli occupation and aggression. The ministry emphasized that under no circumstances would the country forsake its firm conviction that Palestinians possess an unequivocal right to self-determination.
Tehran maintains its steadfast stance that the sole “authentic and lasting” resolution to the Palestinian matter lies in establishing a “unified democratic government” within the occupied territories.
Tehran has categorically rejected the “two-state solution,” which is backed by the United States and its allies, along with any concepts associated with this proposal, such as those outlined in the Doha statement.
The initiative referred to the concept of establishing the State of Palestine based on the borders as they existed on June 4, 1967, overlooking significant Palestinian territories that were occupied in 1948 and remain under occupation.
The Islamic Republic rejects the notion that the future Palestinian capital should be limited to only the eastern section of the holily disputed city of al-Quds, as stated by the ministry.
The statement asserted that the “two-state” solution would fail to address the Palestinian issue effectively.
**’Israeli Actions Prompt Calls for Resistance’**
The Iranian government reaffirms its support for the Palestinians’ right to use “any means necessary” to achieve self-determination and break free from foreign colonial rule, according to a statement from the ministry.
The statement underscored that the rights accorded to “any peaceable nation” inherently encompass the right to resist, emphasizing that “in light of the barbaric actions carried out by the forces of the occupying regime, this right should not be curtailed in any manner.”
The statement emphasized the shared obligation under international law to endorse this ambition, while reiterating Tehran’s firm refusal to acknowledge the regime in any form.
US Not Considered a ‘Peace’ Partner
The ministry emphasized that the United States’ policies and actions have played a role in perpetuating and supporting the Israeli regime’s aggression towards the Palestinian people, rather than mitigating it.
The Islamic Republic asserts that, given the current circumstances, the United States cannot be viewed as a reliable or unbiased player in facilitating a just and enduring resolution to this conflict.
The summit’s secretariat has been requested to incorporate the Iranian delegation’s reservations in the final report.
An emergency Arab-Islamic summit convened in Doha, Qatar on Monday to address recent deadly assaults by the regime on the city, specifically targeting the leadership of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas. The summit also aimed to discuss other actions by Tel Aviv across the West Asia region.
