Iran Firmly Denies Pursuing Nuclear Weapons, Says Pezeshkian
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reaffirmed that the nation remains steadfast in its position of not pursuing nuclear weapons in any capacity.

In a Tuesday interview, Pezeshkian affirmed that the nation remains steadfast in its stance against pursuing nuclear weapons. He emphasized that both the country’s policies and the fatwa issued by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, unequivocally support this position.
There are assertions that claims surrounding Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons are driven by political motives, with some voices expressing optimism that the global community, notably the United States, will acknowledge the true situation.
He emphasized the necessity for the nation to utilize nuclear science in addressing its medical and technological demands.
The Iranian president stated, “We cannot accept being deprived of using nuclear science and knowledge to save the lives of our patients, advance our industries, and develop our agriculture.”
Pezeshkian announced that Iran is completely prepared to undergo any mode of verification regarding its nuclear program, indicating that the nation holds no apprehensions about thorough inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The Iranian Presidency released excerpts of an interview shortly after Iranian negotiators concluded a second round of nuclear discussions with US delegates in Geneva, Switzerland.
Negotiations commenced earlier this month in Oman following a reduction in aggressive language between Iran and the United States regarding the possibility of military conflict.
In Geneva, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, head of the Iranian delegation, announced that the negotiations with the United States had advanced.
Araghchi announced that Tuesday’s discussions wrapped up with participants reaching a consensus on a framework of guiding principles, which will direct future negotiations aimed at achieving a potential agreement.
