Iran Declares No Negotiations with US, Announces Top Security Official

Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), has stated that the Islamic Republic will refrain from engaging in negotiations with the United States following what he described as acts of aggression by Washington and Tel Aviv against the nation.

Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has announced that the Islamic Republic will refuse to engage in negotiations with the United States. This decision follows actions by Washington and Tel Aviv, which have been interpreted as acts of warfare against Iran.

Larijani commented on his X account on Monday, addressing a report by The Wall Street Journal which claimed he had initiated fresh efforts to restart negotiations with the United States.

The United States and Israel launched a new series of airstrikes targeting Iran on Saturday, marking another instance of military aggression approximately eight months following previous unprovoked assaults on Iranian territory.

The Saturday attacks resulted in the death of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

The Iranian government announced a 40-day period of public mourning and a seven-day national holiday on Sunday, in response to the martyrdom of the Leader.

The offensive commenced amidst a backdrop of three rounds of indirect discussions between Tehran and Washington, conducted in both the Omani capital, Muscat, and the Swiss city of Geneva. Plans were underway to initiate technical talks in Vienna, Austria, last Monday.

Iran promptly initiated a series of retaliatory measures in response to the strikes, unleashing a wave of missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli-occupied territories and U.S. military bases across the region.

On the second day of the coordinated offensive, Trump asserted that Iranian officials were seeking to engage in dialogue with Washington.

In a recent post on X, Larijani accused Trump of instigating turmoil in the region due to his “pipe dreams,” adding that he is now worried about further casualties among American servicemen. Meanwhile, Iran has communicated with the United Nations, issuing a warning about severe repercussions for those involved in the Leader’s martyrdom. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi cautioned the UN about the “deep and far-reaching consequences” facing those accountable for the act.

A senior Iranian security official has criticized Trump’s policies, claiming that he shifted his “America First” agenda to prioritize Israel’s interests. The official accused Trump of allowing American soldiers to be sacrificed to fulfill Israel’s ambitions, driven by what was described as his illusion-based actions.

Larijani underscored that American military personnel and their families are paying the price for Trump’s dissemination of falsehoods and questionable conduct.

In a recent statement, the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council asserted that the Iranian nation is in a defensive stance. He clarified that the Iranian Armed Forces have not engaged in any acts of aggression, highlighting that Iran was not the initiator of the conflict.

Iran has reiterated its commitment to fostering peace within the region, while also asserting its readiness to protect its territorial integrity against any aggressive acts.

Iranian authorities have urged neighboring nations to refrain from permitting their territories to be utilized by the United States and Israel for any assaults against the Islamic Republic, cautioning that such actions would provoke retaliation.
