Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raciun: IRGC Confirms Death of Navy Commander

In a statement issued on March 30, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) lauded Rear Admiral Tangsiri as a committed and indefatigable leader who dedicated decades to combat “in the path of God.” They highlighted his role as a significant figure in the “third Sacred Defense.”
The IRGC reported that an individual was injured during missions aimed at bolstering Iran’s defensive positions along islands and coastlines under threat from adversarial forces. This development follows significant retaliatory strikes that allegedly inflicted damage on enemy infrastructure and resulted in the downing of a US aircraft.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) underscored that the Iranian populace is well-acquainted with such acts of martyrdom, recognizing that a movement, which remained resolute despite the loss of prominent historical icons and divine figures like Imam Khomeini and Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, will persist with enhanced vigor.
The statement emphasized that the loss of their commanders will not hinder their mission, as proven by the IRGC Navy personnel who have recently showcased their strength and resolve. Despite the absence of the courageous leader, they continue to impose formidable actions and exhibit firm control, especially within the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
The IRGC Navy has historically been involved in direct confrontations with superpower forces, including the disruption of tanker escort missions using rudimentary weaponry, the destruction of several US warships during the eight-year conflict, and the capture of American and British marines, along with the seizure of enemy vessels. These actions are remembered with pride by the Iranian populace.
The IRGC declared that each fighter embodies the spirit of “a Tangsiri” and hinted at significant developments in the coming days and months. The IRGC offered its congratulations and condolences for his martyrdom to Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the Iranian nation, and the courageous naval forces of both the IRGC and the Army. They pledged, alongside the Iranian people, to persist in their mission until the complete defeat of their adversaries and the liberation of holy al-Quds.
