Hezbollah Official Issues Cautionary Statement on Potential Delays in Lebanon’s Parliamentary Elections

Former Hezbollah minister Mohammad Fneish issued a caution regarding any efforts to postpone the parliamentary elections.

In a recent statement, former Hezbollah Minister Mohammad Fneish issued a warning against any efforts to postpone the parliamentary elections. He emphasized that the Lebanese resistance party firmly opposes any such delays.

At a local memorial service on Monday, Fneish criticized attempts to amend the electoral law, purportedly under the guise of protecting expatriate rights. He argued that these efforts are, in reality, a tactic to delay the elections and expressed firm opposition to such measures.

A Hezbollah official stated at the Al-Mujtaba Complex in Beirut’s southern suburb of Dahiyeh that elections are a true reflection of the people’s will. The official further emphasized that any outside interference impacting expatriates would breach sovereignty and compromise equal competition.

In a statement, he urged the Lebanese government to take on the responsibility concerning the Israeli attacks and to honor its commitments related to reconstruction and compensation for those impacted by the aggression.

The constraints of Lebanon’s limited resources do not exempt the state from its obligations to its citizens.

In a recent statement, he criticized the association made between the disarmament of resistance movements and the reclamation of rights.

Fneish asserted that framing discussions around resistance weapons or justifying the Israeli attacks serve as a pretext for Israeli aggression.
