Hezbollah Leader Urges Solidarity to Oppose Zionist Regime’s Expansion Plans

The Secretary General of Lebanon's resistance movement has urged all Muslim nations to unite in response to Israel's aggressive and expansionist plans, which he claims aim to destabilize the entire West Asia region.

On Friday, during a ceremony commemorating the first anniversary of the martyrdom of senior Hezbollah commander Ibrahim Aqeel and his comrades, who were assassinated by Israel in Beirut, Sheikh Naim Qassem made his remarks.

He cautioned that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is pursuing an expansionist vision for a Greater Israel, seeking to reshape the geopolitical landscape of the West Asia region.

Sheikh Qassem underscored the necessity for collective action, asserting that the sole means to eliminate this threat is through unified opposition against the common adversary.

A spokesperson described Israel as an American and Western colonial expansionist entity, suggesting that its aim is to exert control over the region and limit its autonomy. He further characterized the Zionist presence as a strategic tool for the United States, serving as a regional scarecrow, and as an expansionist force that undermines the region’s independence and sovereignty.

In a statement referencing the historical origins of the regime’s establishment, the speaker remarked, “The Israeli entity, ingrained in our region since the early 20th century, was deeply embedded with colonial and arrogant backing that commenced with Britain and subsequently transitioned to America.”

The leader of Hezbollah has accused Israel of reaching an unprecedented level of criminality, brutality, and disregard for humanitarian, legal, international, and human rights norms, asserting that this is occurring with the full support of the United States administration.

The secretary general of Hezbollah highlighted recent Israeli strikes, such as the one in Qatar earlier in September, as revealing the regime’s scheme and delivering a unequivocal warning to countries in the region.

“The recent strike on Doha signifies that the targeting is now extending beyond every geographic and political boundary hindering the ‘Greater Israel’ initiative,” he stated, emphasizing that the entire region finds itself “at a perilous and extraordinary crossroads.”

The leader of Hezbollah has accused the Israeli government of harboring aggressive intentions towards several countries in the region, including Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Iran.

In a recent statement, Sheikh Qassem called on Saudi Arabia to embark on a “new page” with the resistance. He emphasized three core principles for this engagement: utilizing dialogue to settle disputes and address concerns, recognizing Israel as the adversary instead of the resistance, and putting a hold on past disagreements.

In other parts of his statement, the secretary general cautioned that applying pressure on the resistance would only serve to advantage Israel, and its eradication could leave countries in the region exposed to threats.

Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary-General, Sheikh Qassem, emphasized that the group’s arsenal is exclusively directed towards Israel, not targeting any other country. He reiterated the Lebanese resistance movement’s stance, asserting that they will not disarm.

Israel continues to hold five strategic positions in southern Lebanon, including Labbouneh, Mount Blat, Owayda Hill, Aaziyyeh, and Hammamis Hill, despite a ceasefire agreement following 14 months of conflict. These locations are situated near the border, highlighting ongoing tensions in the region.

Amid persistent Israeli airstrikes and repeated violations of Lebanese airspace and sovereignty, Hezbollah remains the only formidable military force capable of opposing the occupation and preventing further Israeli incursions.

A political aide to Sheikh Qassem has unequivocally dismissed proposals for disarming the resistance group, asserting that such plans would leave the Arab nation vulnerable to the influences of the United States and Israel.

In an interview with Beirut-based al-Nour radio station, Hussein al-Khalil stated that Hezbollah and its allies’ resolute position thwarted attempts by authorities to enforce foreign-imposed mandates on disarming the resistance movement.
