Hamas: Zionist ‘israel’ Using Starvation Tactics in Gaza for Palestinian Eradication
The Palestinian Hamas resistance movement has expressed strong condemnation of recent remarks made by an Israeli far-right minister, who advocated for the cessation of water, electricity, and food supplies to the Gaza Strip.

During a Thursday press conference, Bezalel Smotrich suggested that forced displacement could be considered as a means to facilitate the annexation of Gaza.
According to a report by Israel Hayom, it was suggested that the Israeli military designate Gaza City and central refugee camps as combat zones, with the aim of isolating only Hamas fighters inside, thereby forcing them to succumb to hunger and thirst.
In a statement, Hamas accused Smotrich of issuing a public endorsement for the continuation of Israeli actions in Gaza, which they claim intend to eradicate or displace the Palestinian population.
The movement stated that the minister’s comments further demonstrate that the regime is employing starvation and blockades as a tool against innocent civilians, an act that constitutes a war crime under international law.
Hamas has asserted that Smotrich’s remarks are not merely isolated extremist views but reflect an official policy of the Israeli government, which has reportedly been enacted in Gaza for almost 23 months.
The remarks reportedly unveil the genuine intentions of Israel to the international community, asserting that the current situation in Gaza amounts to a project of genocide and widespread displacement.
Fourteen out of the 15 United Nations Security Council members, including the four permanent members—Russia, China, the United Kingdom, and France—alongside 10 non-permanent members, urged Israel on Wednesday to cease its military campaign against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The ongoing conflict, which began in October 2023, has resulted in hundreds of thousands of casualties.
The United States, as one of the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, abstained from participating in the vote and consequently hindered the passage of the UN resolution.
The ongoing conflict in Gaza has resulted in the tragic loss of approximately 62,900 Palestinian lives, many of whom are women and children, since October 2023. The situation underscores the severe humanitarian impact on the region.
In Gaza City, over 500,000 individuals are currently confronting the dire threat of famine.
