Hamas Insists on Comprehensive Deal with War-Ending Assurances, Rejects Partial Truce
As Egypt prepares to mediate new ceasefire talks, the Palestinian resistance group Hamas has stressed the importance of reaching a comprehensive agreement with Israel. This comes amid ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, with Hamas calling for an end to hostilities and rejecting any partial solutions.

Ahead of the anticipated ceasefire negotiations mediated by Egypt, the Palestinian resistance group Hamas has underscored the importance of reaching a comprehensive agreement with Israel, rather than a limited one, to guarantee an end to the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.
Senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi announced on Saturday that a Hamas delegation is scheduled to meet with Egyptian mediators in Cairo to negotiate a long-term ceasefire agreement with Tel Aviv.
Mardawi stated that the mediators and the U.S. administration now recognize their stance, advocating for a comprehensive deal without segmentation.
In a move toward peace, an announcement has been made pledging ample flexibility to forge a comprehensive exchange agreement. This deal aims to end the conflict, guarantee the full withdrawal of occupying forces, offer relief to the affected populace, and facilitate reconstruction efforts.
A Hamas representative emphasized the movement’s demands, stating that a comprehensive agreement would prevent the occupying regime from renewing its aggressive actions against Gaza.
Mardawi emphasized the necessity of having solid guarantees for the conclusion of the conflict. He stated that while hostilities might continue following a partial agreement, they would not be permissible under a comprehensive deal that is upheld by international assurances. He stressed the importance of incorporating these guarantees into any finalized agreement.
Ongoing negotiations on the specifics of a comprehensive agreement continue, with a firm stance against exchanging a soldier and a body merely for a temporary period of calm, a source stated.
Taher al-Nono, a prominent official of Hamas, has confirmed that the delegation involved in negotiations will travel to Cairo on Saturday to engage with Egyptian authorities.
An official from Hamas has emphasized that the group’s arsenal is not subject to any negotiation, stating firmly that their armaments will remain with them so long as the occupation persists.
In a recent statement, a Hamas official, as reported by Palestine’s resistance news network, expressed a willingness to engage with any proposal aimed at conclusively ending the conflict, rather than partial agreements that may allow Israeli forces to alleviate internal pressures by freeing a limited number of Israeli captives. Simultaneously, the World Food Programme (WFP) has highlighted a severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza, revealing that its food supplies for families in the embattled region have been entirely exhausted due to a comprehensive Israeli blockade.
According to reports, a Hamas official, who wished to remain anonymous, informed AFP that the group is willing to consider an agreement to conclude the Gaza conflict. This proposed deal would involve the immediate release of all captives and abductees, along with a five-year truce.
Hamas has expressed its readiness to execute a comprehensive prisoner exchange in one singular action and has proposed a five-year truce, according to statements given to AFP by an official from the organization.
In January, the Israeli administration was compelled to consent to a ceasefire agreement with Hamas, following its unsuccessful attempts to meet objectives such as the dismantling of the Palestinian resistance movement and the release of captives.
The initial 42-day phase of the truce, plagued by numerous alleged Israeli violations, concluded on March 1. However, Israel has shown reluctance to engage in discussions for the following stages of the agreement.
The continued military actions by Israel in Gaza, commencing on October 7, 2023, have led to at least 51,355 documented Palestinian deaths, with more than 117,248 individuals reported injured.
Thousands of individuals are feared to be trapped beneath debris, remaining unreachable for emergency and civil defense teams as a result of Israel’s continuous offensive.
The regime’s relentless offensives persist unabated, notwithstanding appeals from the UN Security Council for an immediate halt to hostilities and instructions from the International Court of Justice aimed at forestalling genocide and mitigating the grave humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
