Ghalibaf: US ‘evil will diminish’, Iran yet to unleash full capacity
Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf declaredsthat the continuation of the current standoff in the Strait of Hormuz is "unbearable for America" while Tehran has "not even begun yet" to fully respond.

Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf declared that a new equation is taking hold in the Strait of Hormuz, affirming that the continuation of the current standoff is “unbearable for America” while Tehran has yet to unleash its full response, warning that the enemy’s “evil will be diminished.”
In a post on X, Ghalibaf stated that “the new equation of the Strait of Hormuz is in the process of being solidified.” He underlined that the United States and its allies have endangered maritime security and energy transit by breaching the ceasefire and imposing an illegal naval blockade on Iranian territorial waters.
“The security of shipping and energy transit has been jeopardized by the United States and its allies through the violation of the ceasefire and the imposition of a blockade; of course, their evil will be reduced,” Ghalibaf wrote.

‘Continuation of status quo unbearable for US”
The Iranian parliament speaker emphasized that Washington finds the current situation intolerable, contrasting America’s exhaustion with Tehran’s vast untapped capacity to escalate.
“We know full well that the continuation of the status quo is intolerable for America; while we have not even begun yet,” he added.
Ghalibaf’s warning comes as the United States continues its failed naval blockade of Iranian ports, a flagrant violation of international law that Tehran has consistently rejected. Despite Washington’s aggression, Iran maintains full control over the strait, dictating the terms of passage and allowing only commercial vessels that comply with Iranian regulations.

’40-Day War’ a testament to Iranian resilience
Ghalibaf’s assertion that Iran has “not even begun” echoes the outcome of the 40-Day War, the opening phase of the US-Israeli aggression that commenced on February 28.
During those 40 days, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps launched 100 waves of precision missile and drone strikes, inflicting devastating damage on American and Israeli military infrastructure across the region.
Iran responded to enemy aggression by shutting down the strait to hostile vessels and establishing a new maritime order. The “40-Day War” concluded with a temporary ceasefire on April 8, but subsequent US‑mediated talks in Islamabad collapsed due to Washington’s maximalist demands.
The truce was extended indefinitely without a formal agreement, while the US imposed its illegal naval blockade on April 13.

Iran holds firm, America runs out of options
Ghalibaf’s latest statement reinforces Tehran’s unwavering position: the strait remains under full Iranian control, and no lasting resolution will be accepted without the complete lifting of all restrictions on Iranian shipping. Iranian officials have repeatedly declared that the security of the waterway is inseparable from Iran’s national security and that any threat to Iranian ports will be met with a decisive response.
As the United States flounders, unable to break Iran’s grip on the strait, global energy markets remain volatile. Oil prices have soared past $100 a barrel, Western economies are buckling under the strain of supply disruptions, and the American people are overwhelmingly opposed to the US-Israeli aggression on Iran. By contrast, Iran stands firm, its military and political leadership united behind the country’s leadership.
The enemy’s campaigns, aerial bombardment, naval blockade, economic warfare, media theatrics, have all failed. America’s power is fading, and Iran has not yet shown its full hand. Victory, as Ghalibaf has affirmed, belongs to the Iranian people.
