ECO States Unanimously Condemn Israeli Attacks on Iran: President Pezeshkian

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said all member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) unequivocally denounced the Israeli regime’s recent military aggression against Iran.
Pezeshkian made the remarks on Friday night after returning from the 17th ECO Summit held in the Azerbaijani city of Khankendi.
He said Iran’s condemnation of Israeli attacks received “firm support from other members,” underscoring regional solidarity in defending Iranian sovereignty.
In a message posted on his official X account on Friday, Pezeshkian expressed appreciation for “the responsible positions of the countries of the region by protesting the aggression against Iranian territory.”
He described the ECO as “a serious symbol of neighborliness diplomacy and at the forefront of multilateral economic diplomacy,” emphasizing shared ambitions in trade, transit, digital innovation, tourism, and resilience by 2035.
On June 13, the Israeli regime launched a blatant and unprovoked act of aggression against Iran, targeting nuclear sites, military installations, and civilian areas, resulting in more than 900 civilian deaths and the assassination of senior military commanders and nuclear scientists.
In response, Iranian forces carried out Operation True Promise III, unleashing a large-scale retaliatory strike with advanced domestically developed ballistic missiles and drones.
The coordinated Iranian attacks overwhelmed Israeli air defenses and struck critical military, intelligence, energy, and industrial sites across the occupied Palestinian territories.
Facing mounting losses and isolation, the Israeli regime announced a unilateral ceasefire on June 24, a declaration delivered by US President Donald Trump.
On the sidelines of the summit, Pezeshkian held meetings with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.
He stated that these high-level exchanges should extend beyond heads of state, urging deputies and ministers to prioritize the implementation of agreements reached during the talks.
The summit convened heads of state to deepen economic cooperation and promote stability and prosperity across Central and West Asia as well as the Caucasus.
Founded by Iran, Turkey, and Pakistan, the ECO has expanded to include Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, serving as a vital platform for regional integration.
