Daraa security forces seize weapons, explosives linked to deadly patrol attack

Internal Security Forces in Daraa seized a cache of weapons and explosives from the home of terrorist Mohsen al-Haimed, leader of the cell responsible for a September attack that killed three Internal Security Forces personnel.

Security units found weapons and ammunition, explosive devices being prepared, quantities of highly explosive C4 and other equipment used to manufacture explosives.

The operation is part of ongoing security efforts to dismantle weapons depots and pursue those involved in acts of sabotage, with the aim of ensuring public safety and ending insecurity.

On Sept. 17, three Internal Security Forces personnel were killed and others wounded when al-Haimed’s cell attacked their patrol as they were carrying out an operation to arrest a wanted individual in al-Sanamayn.
