Cuba Witnesses Large-Scale Protest Against US Military Actions in Venezuela

On Saturday, tens of thousands of individuals converged in Havana, Cuba's capital, to protest against U.S. military actions targeting Venezuela. The demonstrators expressed solidarity with their Latin American counterpart in its efforts to uphold national sovereignty.

Cuba issued a strong and immediate response following extensive U.S. strikes on Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, conducted early Saturday. These actions included the removal of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and his wife from the nation.

In a social media statement, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel denounced the incident as a “criminal attack” and called for an immediate reaction from the international community.

In the wake of the recent strikes, tens of thousands of demonstrators convened at the Anti-Imperialist Platform outside the US Embassy in Cuba. The gathering served as a potent denunciation of the Trump administration’s overt application of military force.

Miguel Diaz-Canel, along with other high-ranking officials, participated in the demonstration. During his address to the assembly, Diaz-Canel condemned the US actions, labeling them as “state terrorism,” and called for the prompt release of Maduro and his spouse.

He asserted that the United States’ underlying aim is to take control of Venezuela’s oil, land, and natural resources.

Cuba and Venezuela have historically upheld a robust alliance, engaging regularly in political, social, and various other domains. The incident on Saturday has provoked significant outrage among the Cuban populace.
