CNN: Strong Disapproval of Trump Reaches Record High
A CNN analyst says strong disapproval of Trump’s performance has reached a historic high.
CNN senior data analyst Harry Enten said strong disapproval of Trump’s job performance has reached a historic high ahead of the midterm elections, according to Pars Today, citing Tasnim.
According to Enten, 50% of Americans now strongly disapprove of Trump’s performance, exceeding the previous high of 45% recorded before the 2018 midterm elections. Before that, the record stood at 41% for George W. Bush ahead of the 2006 midterms.
The sentiment is even stronger among independent voters: 56 percent strongly disapprove of Trump’s performance, while just 9 percent strongly approve.
A new Reuters/Ipsos poll puts Trump’s approval rating at 32%, the lowest level recorded in his political career.
According to the poll, approval of Trump’s performance among Republicans fell to 73% from 82% the previous week. Just 17% of respondents said they were satisfied with Trump’s handling of the cost of living, which voters ranked as the top issue ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.
The poll found that just 34 percent of Americans support U.S. attacks on Iran, while 82 percent expect the conflict to continue for an extended period.
Meanwhile, Reuters reported that rising fuel prices after the war with Iran have intensified cost-of-living concerns in the United States.
