A group of extremist Jewish settlers carried out a violent assault on the town of Deir Jarir, located east of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, with the backing of Israeli forces.
Local sources report that armed settlers violently assaulted and injured an elderly man along with his family members near their residence on the eastern side of the town.
In a recent incident, settlers were reported to have vandalized a vehicle by breaking its windows and stealing sheep. Concurrently, Israeli soldiers intermittently discharged live ammunition as local residents attempted to fend off the assault on their town.
Livestock were reportedly released into extensive cultivated areas in the al-Harayek region, east of the town, resulting in significant damage to both trees and crops.
In eastern Ramallah, settlers have reportedly blocked the road connecting the towns of Deir Jarir and Silwad, according to local sources.
Additional residents sustained injuries amid the settler assault on the town.
A week prior, a young man from Deir Jarir was fatally shot amid an assault conducted by armed settlers in the vicinity of the town.
