Ansarullah Leader Calls for Muslim Response Following Quran Insult in U.S.
The head of Yemen's Ansarullah resistance movement has vehemently denounced the recent desecration of the Holy Qur'an by a US congressional candidate. He urged Muslims globally to adopt a resolute stance in defense of their religious dignities.

Following an incident where far-right Republican Senate candidate Jake Lang insulted the Holy Qur’an at an anti-Islam rally in Plano, Florida, calls for action have intensified. The act has received widespread denunciation from both the Muslim community and human rights advocates, who are labeling it as a blatant provocation and an affront to the sentiments of millions of Muslims both in the United States and globally.
On Tuesday, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi released a statement condemning the act as an affront to “the greatest religious sanctities on earth.” He underscored that this incident is part of “an ongoing war” against Islam orchestrated by the United States, Britain, the Israeli regime, and their allies across the globe.
He stated that these forces aim to undermine human societies and exert control over them. He further explained that the desecration of religious sites is part of a larger strategy to enslave nations, exploit their resources, and occupy their territories.
The Houthis have stated that the ongoing insults, along with both the overt and covert campaigns waged by Zionist forces and their allies, constitute a clear act of hostility against Islam and its followers.
He stated that these actions are intended to undermine the significance of the Holy Qur’an among Muslims and detach them from its teachings, indicating a “profound animosity” towards Islam.
Houthi highlighted the actions against Palestinians and Islamic holy sites in occupied Palestine, attributing these actions and the support from Western nations for Israel as additional proof of existing hostilities.
He emphasized that Muslims, encompassing governments, populations, elites, and the general public, hold both a religious and moral duty to challenge the oppressive and deceptive forces spearheaded by Zionism.
Houthi issued a stern warning that continued indifference and silence in response to such insults only serve to embolden adversaries and signify a grave failure in upholding faith, values, and principles.
He criticized the absence of significant political, economic, or media influence from the Muslim world, despite its nearly two billion-strong population, observing that the positions of elites and nations have largely aligned with governmental stances.
The leader of Ansarullah has urged the Yemeni populace to participate in large-scale demonstrations on Friday, aimed at defending the sanctity of the Holy Qur’an and other Islamic holy sites. These protests also continue the ongoing weekly demonstrations showing solidarity with the Palestinian people.
