Israeli forces have continued incursions into southern Syria while intensifying airstrikes and artillery shelling in southern Lebanon.
On Saturday, Israeli forces expanded their presence in villages and rural areas across southern Syria’s Quneitra and Daraa provinces, carrying out raids, searches and arrests while setting up military positions and checkpoints.
The incursions have become an almost constant feature of the situation since the Syrian government fell on December 8, 2024.
A total of 1,068 Israeli incursions into Syrian territory were documented between December 8, 2024, and September 19, 2026, including 594 recorded in 2026 alone.
Fourteen incursions were recorded in the final weeks of 2024, followed by 460 in 2025 and 594 during the first nine months of 2026.
Israel has occupied parts of southern Syria, including the strategic heights of Mount Hermon, known in Arabic as Jabal al-Sheikh.
Lebanese sources said Israeli fighter jets carried out heavy strikes on al-Nabatieh al-Fawqa on Saturday as Israeli aircraft flew at low altitude over the town amid ongoing attacks on southern Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Israeli army artillery struck the outskirts of al-Dabsha and Wadi al-Salouqi, as well as Doha Kfar Rumman and the area between Haddatha and Haris.
At the same time, Israeli media reported that five Israeli soldiers were wounded during an offensive in southern Lebanon overnight.
Israel and Lebanon signed a “framework agreement” in July, mediated by the United States and ostensibly aimed at ending the war.
The regime has nevertheless disregarded the agreement, carrying out additional attacks in southern Lebanon.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry said Israeli attacks killed 8,953 people and wounded 30,649 between October 8, 2023, and September 25, 2026.
