The occupied West Bank saw a new wave of Israeli military operations and settler attacks on Friday, with incidents including shootings, arrests and assaults, as well as road closures, checkpoints and raids in several areas.
In Kobar, north of Ramallah, Israeli forces opened fire on two young men before arresting them. One was wounded. The forces alleged that he had thrown a Molotov cocktail, and also raided the town and fired shots in the area.
In al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, an armed Israeli settler opened fire while grazing livestock on Palestinian-owned land, as other armed settlers conducted provocative patrols near residents’ homes.
Settlers also attacked Palestinians and their vehicles in Yabrud, east of Ramallah, blocked a road in Al-Bireh and raised Israeli flags. Meanwhile, Israeli forces closed the Atara and Ein Sinya checkpoints north of Ramallah.
In Nablus, an armed settler blocked the road linking the city to Asira al-Shamaliya, while Israeli forces opened fire in Beit Furik’s Officers’ Quarter, east of Nablus, and barred an ambulance from reaching the area.
The attacks also reached Aqraba, where Israeli soldiers severely beat a 62-year-old Palestinian man, injuring him. He was transported to a hospital.
In Tarqumiyah, west of Hebron, Palestinians suffered breathing difficulties after Israeli forces fired tear gas at a wedding venue.
Israeli forces also raided the Solomon’s Pools area south of Bethlehem.
In Jenin, Israeli forces arrested Palestinian resident Mohammad Abdel Karim Turkman in the town of Zababdeh. They also launched an arrest campaign targeting several workers in Bartaa, southwest of Jenin, inside the separation barrier.
The attacks come as restrictions on Palestinian movement continue across the occupied West Bank, with checkpoints, roadblocks, gates and other measures hampering residents’ ability to move freely.
