Israeli artillery shells outskirts of Abidin in western Daraa
Israeli occupation forces fired two artillery shells at the outskirts of Abidin village in the Yarmouk Basin in western Daraa countryside early Tuesday, sending shrapnel toward civilian homes, with no casualties reported.
Local sources told SANA that the shells landed on the outskirts of the village, with shrapnel reaching homes in its western neighborhood.
Israeli forces simultaneously fired four illumination rounds over the area, the sources said.
The shelling followed Israeli attacks on Monday targeting the outskirts of Abidin, Maariyah and al-Arida villages in the same area, killing 15 goats.
Earlier Monday, Israeli forces also shelled the Abidin and al-Raqad valleys and the outskirts of Jamlah village and opened fire from one of their positions along the 1974 disengagement line toward the outskirts of Abidin.
Israeli occupation forces have carried out repeated incursions and shelling in southern Syria, as well as raids on civilian homes, arrests and land bulldozing.
Syria has condemned the Israeli actions as violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and has repeatedly demanded the full withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from Syrian territory, saying measures taken by Israel are null and void and have no legal effect under international law.
Damascus has also called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and press Israel to fully withdraw from southern Syria.
