Zionist Regime Escalates Strikes on Lebanon and Extends Unauthorized Operations into Syria
Zionist forces have intensified their operations against Lebanon and Syria, launching attacks on southern Lebanon and conducting deeper military incursions into the Quneitra province of Syria.
Israeli military operations have intensified in the region, with increased assaults targeting locations in southern Lebanon and expanded military actions within Syria’s Quneitra province.
On Saturday, Israeli military forces launched strikes on southern Lebanon, targeting the area of Zawtar al-Sharqiya and conducting shelling operations in the Mashaa al-Mansouri region within the Tyre district.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has expressed strong condemnation of the ongoing Israeli incursions in southern Lebanon, specifically highlighting strikes against infrastructure and locations designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Aoun has issued a warning that the recent assaults could jeopardize the Lebanon-Israel framework agreement. This agreement was brokered through U.S. mediation in a bid to halt Israeli hostilities against Lebanon.
The timing of these measures conveys negative implications and undermines global efforts to foster stability, Aoun declared, urging guarantor nations and the international community to promptly address ongoing breaches.
Israeli authorities are reportedly engaging in the systematic demolition of residential neighborhoods and infrastructure across southern Lebanon, with the apparent aim of making the area uninhabitable.
Israeli forces initiated an offensive on Lebanon on March 2, contravening the ceasefire agreement established with the Lebanese group Hezbollah.
Lebanese health authorities report that Israeli forces have been responsible for the deaths of 4,321 civilians and injuries to 12,207 others since March 2. In recent assaults, Israel has deployed 700 tons of explosives in strikes around Lebanon’s Shaqif Fortress (also known as Beaufort Castle) in southern Lebanon, resulting in significant detonations in nearby regions.
On Saturday, Israeli forces intensified their operations in Syria’s Quneitra province by penetrating the village of Bureiqa. Here, they set up a checkpoint to conduct searches on residents and those passing through the area.
Following the collapse of the Syrian government in December 2024, the regime has bolstered its presence in southern Syria. This development includes launching airstrikes on defense installations and pushing further into Quneitra province.
Following Quneitra province, Daraa province ranks as the second most affected area with 32 recorded incursions by Israeli forces into its territory.
The situation in Daraa has escalated significantly, with violations becoming increasingly perilous in nature. Recent developments have seen artillery assaults, ground incursions, and a marked increase in fighter jet activity, raising concerns over regional stability.
Israeli forces have reportedly taken control of areas in southern Syria, notably the strategic Mount Hermon region. Syrian sources have documented almost daily incidents including artillery assaults, ground operations, and consistent airspace intrusions in regions such as Daraa, the outskirts of Damascus, and Sweida province.
