We are ready for preemptive, surprise ops.: Gen. Pourdastan
The chief of the Strategic Studies and Research Center of the Iranian Army has addressed the threats by Trump, affirming that Iran's military forces are fully prepared and operational.

In remarks to local Iranian media, General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan announced a shift in Iran’s military strategy from a defensive to an offensive stance. He highlighted that the offensive doctrine now includes preemptive operations, suggesting that such measures could be employed to catch adversaries off guard in unanticipated regions if deemed necessary by the Islamic Establishment.
He stated that the military has yet to deploy a significant part of its capabilities, warning that any misstep by adversaries would elicit a response extending beyond borders and the Strait of Hormuz.
In a recent analysis of the 12-day and 40-day conflicts, Pourdastan emphasized that the Islamic Republic and the Resistance Front effectively engaged in an unequal battle against a coalition comprising Hebrew, Western, and Arab forces with leadership from the United States.
He viewed the enemy’s request for a ceasefire as the ultimate indication of triumph in these confrontations, stating that historically, a losing nation typically seeks a ceasefire. He emphasized that the resilience of their fighters, despite enduring 46 years of sanctions, has driven the enemy to a state of despair. The recent assertions by American officials, he argued, are not a reflection of strength, but rather a sign of desperation and the declining influence of the United States.
In other parts of his statement, General Pourdastan addressed the situation in Lebanon, expressing Iran’s complete preparedness to support and protect the Lebanese population.
