IRGC Navy Official Asserts Power as Sole Defense Against Adversaries
A high-ranking officer within the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy has underscored the notion that national strength serves as the sole effective safeguard against adversarial forces. The official contends that Iran's foes withdraw only when they are faced with a display of power.

Mohammad Akbarzadeh, the deputy for political affairs of the IRGC Navy, delivered comments during a ceremony held in the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas on Saturday.
An official highlighted recent developments underscoring the critical need to uphold Iran’s military, political, and social resilience.
Akbarzadeh addressed the recent series of unprovoked hostilities initiated by the United States and the Israeli regime against the Islamic Republic, actions that were met with a decisive and successful response from the nation.
Commenting on the strategic approaches of opponents, Akbarzadeh stated that adversaries do not change their actions due to benevolence, but instead react to displays of strength.
He stated that an adversary withdraws when confronted with strength, rather than out of sympathy.
In light of the ongoing diplomatic discussions between Tehran and Washington, an official emphasized that power remains the essential guarantor in any prospective agreement.
“The true assurance in any agreement lies in power,” he stated, emphasizing that Iran would not back down should the other party fail to uphold its obligations.
Officials emphasized that their aim in negotiations is to safeguard their rights rather than to offer concessions.
The official highlighted regional initiatives pursued by adversaries, such as the Abraham Accords. These are US-supported normalization agreements among states in the region and Israel, as well as the alleged expansionist aspirations encapsulated in the “Greater Middle East” plan.
Akbarzadeh has pinpointed the Islamic Republic as the main hindrance to these projects, asserting that its disruptive actions have perpetuated hostility towards the nation.
An official has commented on the “cognitive warfare” being waged against Iran, highlighting how adversaries aim to undermine public resilience through media campaigns and attempts to induce strategic errors.
He contended that historical experience illustrates the Iranian nation’s resilience in the face of external pressures and challenges.
