Israeli occupation forces raid homes in Syria’s Yarmouk Basin area

Israeli occupation forces raided the Yarmouk Basin area in western Daraa countryside early Sunday and carried out searches in the village of Abidin, according to local residents.
Residents told SANA’s reporter in the province that a force of more than 10 military vehicles advanced through the area between the villages of Maariya and Abidin before reaching the outskirts of Abidin, where troops searched several homes.
The operation caused fear among local residents, the reporter added, noting that the incursion coincided with the movement of military vehicles around positions in the western sector of the region.
Israel has continued violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through military incursions in southern Syria, including raids, arrests, land-clearing operations and shelling.
Syria has repeatedly called for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from its territory, stressing that all Israeli measures in southern Syria are null and void under international law. It has also urged the international community to take action to halt Israeli violations and to ensure a full Israeli withdrawal from southern Syria.
