Iranian Military Prepared to Deliver Decisive Response to Any Threat, Asserts Senior Commander

The leader of Iran’s top operational command has declared that the Iranian Armed Forces are fully prepared and on high alert to deliver a "painful and regret-inducing" response to any threats against the nation's national security, independence, and territorial integrity.

Major General Ali Abdollahi, Commander of Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, issued a statement on Thursday marking the first anniversary of the US-Israel aggression against the Islamic Republic. In his address, he paid tribute to the war martyrs.

An official statement from Iran’s Armed Forces emphasized that they stand fully prepared to counter any threats to the nation’s security, independence, and territorial integrity. The forces stated their readiness to launch operations that would be both strategically impactful and cause significant regret to any aggressors.

He stated that the 12-day conflict with the United States and Israel last June demonstrated the Iranian nation’s preparedness to uphold the country’s sovereignty, independence, security, and national interests against any threat or aggression. This resolve was maintained through unity, steadfastness, adherence to the guidance of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Commander-in-Chief, and reliance on the capabilities of the Armed Forces.

A senior military official stated that adversaries, driven by misguided calculations and unrealistic assumptions, have been thwarted in their attempts to accomplish malicious objectives, resulting in a significant and humiliating setback.

He praised the “sacred and historic defense,” emphasizing the continued, widespread support of the populace for the principles of the Islamic Revolution and the Armed Forces. This support, together with their allegiance to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, and their calls for retribution for the martyred Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, is seen as a “lasting symbol of national unity, cohesion, and commitment to the path of resistance.”

Abdollahi highlighted that the presence of the populace in the streets for over 100 consecutive nights has underscored their crucial role in bolstering the nation’s deterrent capabilities.

A senior military official conveyed assurance that the legacy of Iran’s martyrs, particularly the esteemed former leader, will persist. The official emphasized that the principles of independence, resilience, and national pride will remain upheld and prominent.

On February 28, the United States and Israel initiated military operations against Iran, which have been characterized as acts of aggression without prior provocation.

Iran’s military forces launched a robust series of retaliatory strikes under the banner of Operation True Promise 4, unleashing a barrage of hundreds of ballistic and hypersonic missiles, along with drones. These attacks targeted American military installations across West Asia as well as Israeli positions within the occupied territories, marking a significant escalation in regional tensions.

On April 8, marking the fortieth day of the conflict, a ceasefire mediated by Islamabad was implemented. Despite this development, initial negotiations between Tehran and Washington did not yield a conclusive agreement, as Washington proceeded to enforce a stringent “naval blockade” on Iran.

Since the truce, both Israel and the United States have been accused of violations, prompting significant retaliatory actions from Iran.
