Seven killed in Israeli strikes across southern Lebanon

Seven people were killed and several others wounded in Israeli airstrikes targeting multiple locations across southern Lebanon late Saturday, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA).

The agency reported that Israeli drone strikes killed three people in the city of Nabatieh, the town of Arabsalim and on the Zifta-Nabatieh highway. A fourth person was killed in a separate strike on the town of Haboush.

In the town of Jouaiyya, an Israeli airstrike killed three people and wounded another, NNA said, adding that Lebanese Civil Defense teams were continuing search and rescue operations to locate people believed trapped beneath the rubble.

Israeli warplanes and drones also carried out strikes on the towns of Sohmor, Choukine, Kfar Tebnit, Srifa, Haris, Kafra, al-Qusaibah and Kfar Dounine, while artillery shelling targeted Zebdine, al-Mansouri and Bayt al-Sayyad.

Earlier on Saturday, a man and a woman were killed and several others, including paramedics, were injured in Israeli air raids targeting Nabatieh and several towns across southern Lebanon.

The attacks came hours after Lebanese media reported that two officers and a soldier were killed in an Israeli strike targeting a Lebanese Army patrol on the Khardali-Nabatieh road, drawing condemnation from several Arab countries.

The latest strikes mark a further escalation in southern Lebanon, where Israeli attacks have continued despite ongoing diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions and prevent a wider conflict.
