Senior Hamas Leader’s Son Injured, Five Killed in Zionist Airstrikes on Gaza: Report

Zionist airstrikes have reportedly resulted in injuries to the son of prominent Hamas figure Khalil al-Hayya and have claimed the lives of at least five individuals throughout the Gaza Strip, according to recent reports.

According to reports from Reuters, Azzam al-Hayya sustained injuries in a strike on Gaza City on Wednesday, which also resulted in the death of another individual. The information was provided by medical sources and Hamas representatives.

Earlier today, four Palestinians lost their lives in separate attacks, one of whom was a senior official in Gaza’s police force.

Medical professionals confirmed that Naseem al-Kalazani, the chief of the anti-narcotics unit in Khan Younis, a southern city in Gaza, lost his life when a strike targeted his vehicle near the al-Mawasi area on the city’s western side. Health officials reported that the same incident resulted in injuries to at least 17 other individuals.

A representative of Hamas, Taher al-Nono, who also serves as an aide to Khalil al-Hayya, has denounced the attack, stating, “The assault on Azzam Khalil al-Hayya through shelling epitomizes the height of moral and ethical decay.”

He stated that acts of shelling and killing only serve to make the negotiator more resolute in their stance, emphasizing the defense of their people’s rights and their right to self-determination. This comment alludes to Khalil al-Hayya’s significant involvement in indirect discussions with Tel Aviv.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Hayya described the recent actions as part of a “criminal targeting” and an extension of “Zionist aggression” against their community. He argued that the occupation aims to achieve its objectives using methods of pressure, violence, and intimidation.

He stated, “We are individuals united by a cause. The killing of children and the martyrdom of leaders will not intimidate us.”

In October of last year, Israel and Hamas reached an agreement on a ceasefire proposal put forward by the United States, aimed at halting the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

The regime has repeatedly violated the ceasefire, resulting in the deaths of at least 830 Palestinians.

More than 72,500 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, have already lost their lives amid the widespread devastation across the Palestinian territories.
