US Destroyers Withdraw from Strait of Hormuz Amid Intense Iranian Missile and Drone Assault: IRGC Navy Reports

In a large-scale joint operation conducted on Thursday evening, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy reported that its forces inflicted considerable damage on United States naval assets. As a result, three American destroyers were compelled to retreat from the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
According to a statement from the IRGC Navy’s commander, the operation was initiated as a reaction to two provocative maneuvers by the United States military.
An initial breach of the ceasefire occurred with an assault on an Iranian oil tanker in proximity to the port of Jask. Subsequently, U.S. Navy destroyers moved toward the pivotal Strait of Hormuz, disregarding explicit warnings.
The commander stated that Iranian forces countered what was described as US military adventurism with a “highly extensive and precise combined operation.”
The counteroffensive deployed an array of sophisticated weaponry, encompassing anti-ship ballistic missiles, anti-ship cruise missiles, and destructive drones.
He stated that the armaments were outfitted with high-explosive warheads and were launched directly at the opposing destroyers.
The Iranian military has announced that intelligence surveillance has verified “considerable damage” inflicted on U.S. military assets following a strike. This action by Iranian forces was a rapid response to an attack on a tanker, according to top military officials.
In light of the formidable precision of Iranian firepower, the commander of the IRGC Navy reported that three hostile enemy vessels “promptly retreated from the Strait of Hormuz area.”
In a statement released on Thursday, a spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters announced that Iranian forces promptly retaliated against a series of US military actions in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
Ebrahim Zolfaghari has stated that the “aggressive, terrorist, and outlaw” actions of the US military allegedly violated a ceasefire by targeting an Iranian oil tanker.
A spokesperson issued a stern warning, emphasizing that the United States and its allies, described as “criminal and aggressive,” need to understand that the Islamic Republic of Iran remains resolute in delivering a decisive and forceful response to any act of aggression or violation, without delay or hesitation, as it has consistently done in the past.
These developments unfold against the backdrop of ongoing maritime banditry and piracy by the United States in the key waterway, which remains inaccessible to vessels from the US and its allies.
